| Beth Woodard |

Beth Woodard has been the Theatre Teacher and Director at South Caldwell High School for 13 years. She has also directed numerous shows with Foothills Performing Arts, Old Colony Players and Western Piedmont Community College, where she still teaches Stage Make-up. Beth has also acted with these same companies in various roles. Her most recent performance was as “Jocasta” in Oedipus the King in which she played opposite her husband, Mark, both received awards for their performances. In recent years, Beth has spent her summers in Boone, portraying “Martha Stewart” in the outdoor drama, Horn in the West. Recently, however, she has worked with the Youth Theatre Academy at Hickory Community Theatre with their summer camps. Further, Beth has been honored by her peers in receiving the Foothills Performing Arts Doug Carter Award (Awarded for contributions to theatre in Caldwell County), the North Carolina Theatre Conference K-12 Educators Award, and the South Caldwell High School Teacher of the Year in 2004. Beth also serves as an Arts, Culture and Humanities Academy Leader at South Caldwell, and serves as Vice-President of the North Carolina Theatre Arts Educators. Although all theatre is enjoyable, compelling and inspiring, it is with great enthusiasm that Beth begins this journey into Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. She explains, “This project will build strong relationships among all of our students while allowing them to explore the beautiful language of the greatest playwright of all time. I am extremely excited to be working with such fabulous people to bring to life the greatest love story of all time!” |

Joshua was born in Springfield, Missouri and moved to Thomasville, NC when he was 16. There he attended East Davidson HS and met his wife, Gina. The Scott's made Caldwell County their home in 2000. Joshua graduated from Appalachian State University as a NC Teaching Fellow with a B.S. in Theatre Education. He is the theatre teacher at Hibriten HS and serves on the Board of Directors for Foothills Performing Arts. Joshua and Gina are the proud parents of Kiersten - 8, Isaiah - 6, and Elijah - 3. |

| Mark Allen Woodard is a graduate of the Catawba College School of Performing Arts where he was awarded with the Sydney Blackmer Outstanding Actor Award for his role in Hedda Gabbler. While at Catawba, Mark studied Shakespearean Performance and Literature under James Parker and Dr. Beverly Sinnott, two of North Carolina’s foremost Elizabethan scholars. As a professional actor he has worked in a wide range of genres including Children’s Theatre (Hampstead Players), Musical Theatre (Nebraska Theatre Caravan), Dinner Theatre (Pineville Dinner Theatre), and Repertory Theatre (Blowing Rock Stage Company). His Stage Combat experience has largely been honed during his many summers performing in Historical Outdoor Dramas throughout North Carolina including Horn in the West where he served as Combat Choreographer for several seasons. Mark is also a fervent supporter of community theatre, contributing to local productions as both actor and director. In addition to which, he has taught numerous workshops for Youth Theatre programs for Hickory Community Theatre as well as Rocket Players in Blowing Rock, NC. |

| Gina Scott is the Drama Teacher at Davenport A+ Elementary School. She is the wife of Joshua Scott, and mother of 3 wonderful children, Kiersten (also in the show) 8, Isaiah 6, and Elijah 3. She has performed as Miss Hannigan in Annie at Hibriten High School, Mrs. Darling in Peter Pan at the Civic Center, and The Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz at the Civic Center. I am very proud of every student that participated in this once in a lifetime experience. God bless you all, and I hope you keep this memory forever! Thank you for letting me be a part of this moment in time. I'll cherish it in my heart always. |
